Shoreline Habitat Cost-Share

2024 will be the second year the Carver Soil and Water Conservation District offers cost share funding to help you convert your monoculture turf shoreline to a beautiful native habitat. Many homeowners mow up to the edge of their shorelines. This not only removes the most valuable areas of your property for habitat, but it can often destabilize your shoreline, making it more susceptible to erosion from boat wakes. Adding rip-rap can help prevent erosion, but further eliminates any habitat value. Native habitat buffers are the most environmentally friendly method of securing your shoreline from erosion.

Carver SWCD Staff are available to assist homeowners in the entire process- planning, plant selection, planting plans, applications and the grant process.
